BAIRDS WINES is an established independent wine and spirit merchant based in the Scottish Borders near Edinburgh.  A family run operation, Mervyn and Ed offer a broad range of wines and premium spirits from around the world... most of which are not available elsewhere in Scotland, particularly on the High Street.

First and foremost we wholesale to the on-trade, restaurants, hotels, bars and caterers across the Central Belt; However we also have a small shop and tasting room in the Borders.  As our focus is the on-trade we work closely with smaller growers and producers, which makes our selection stand out for its quality and individuality.  As such, perfect too for the wine enthusiast looking for new experiences.

Included in our portfolio is a selection of organic, vegetarian and vegan wines. Vegan wines may be suitable for people with allergies to dairy products or fish. Look for (organic VG) or (biodynamic VG) references in the list. There is also an exciting range of naturally fermented fruit wines, liqueurs and meads from Lurgashall Winery.

We are the sole Scottish agents for Emporia Brands, whose mission is “to raise the bar”!, to propose a quality above the standard commonplace in each spirit category. Winner of The International Wine and Spirit Competition 2004  Award for ' European Spirit Buyer of the Year'  for example.  Included within this range of spirits is our new Saffron Gin and Cape North Vodka (Sweden).

Since we launched BAIRDS in 2001, we have been involved with the Traverse Theatre as a sponsor.  In addition to which we supply several other 'Festival' venues in Edinburgh, including the Assembly Theatre, Assembly Hall and the Queens Hall.
